Have just returned from the most relaxing, fantastic weekend at Quercus. The weekend was a break away for my 3 rescue dogs so i was extremelly particular and anxious about the garden being fully secure.. many places make this claim and unfortunately this turns out not to be the case leading to many issues! .. This was not the case at Quercus... the garden was THE BEST and completely secure including gates and chicken wire all around. This had been my main reason for booking the property.. My dogs LOVED it... it was amazing to see them zooming around without a care in the world. They also enjoyed both bird and squirrel watching whilst relaxing by the cosy log fire. Communication from the owner's was super quick and friendly when i made inquiries and throughout the stay. It is very evident that they genuinely care about their property and that every guest.. human and paws enjoy their stay. So many personal touches made the stay extra special from the emails to the arrivals board where they take the time to know your dogs names to the towels/ beds/ blankets/ treats as well as the stunning welcome basket full of local produce for yourself. Cottage was superbly clean, fresh and comfy with everything you could need. The hot tub and its views being the icing on the cake. A real home from home. I can't recommend Quercus enough and have already booked to return in July!
Just returned from our third trip to Quercus. Thoroughly enjoyed the immaculate, well thought out and maintained cottage. The peaceful location with secure garden is perfect for both humans and dogs. Garden is full of birds and wildlife which we have enjoyed both in the winter snow with the log burner and also sat out on the decking in the sun. Already looking forward to returning. Highly recommend.
We've just returned from our 3rd visit to the beautiful Quercus Cottage. We absolutely love visiting Quercus, not only for the views, hot tub, gorgeous log burner and secure field, but the wonderful service that Tony and Nicola provide. From the minute you arrive you feel welcomed and know they're always just a message away. Our dog Ferry is an anxious rescue and he loves visiting Quercus and enjoying the freedom of the field and the fact he's allowed on the sofa (with blankets on!). We would 100% recommend Quercus to anyone, with or without pets. Its peaceful, comfortable and cosy with the most beautiful surroundings and kindest owners. We can't wait for our next visit.
Lovely, clean, warm cottage, with everything you could need. Lots of treats for us and the dogs. The dogs are so well catered for, with beds, towels, toys, bowls, treats and a fantastic garden and field to run around in. Loads of bird feeders, with lots of visiting birds. Weather wasnt too bad for October, and the colours on the trees were beautiful. Hot tub was a great treat. I could go on but you need to visit this lovely, quirky cottage to see for yourself!
We had such an amazing time at Quercus, the cottage itself it lovely with a beautiful, well maintained garden that has lots of birds, squirrels and butterflies. it was great that its very secure with wire mesh round the fencing that allowed our chihuahuas to roam about and not escape! Tony and Nicola are such friendly, thoughtful hosts and have taken a great deal of care to make sure the cottage is equipped with everything you would need for a lovely break. Hopefully we will be back soon!
This was our 4th visit to Quercus and yet again it did not disappoint. This is the perfect relaxing retreat for people and dogs alike. Nicola and Tony couldn't be more helpful. Everything from the welcome basket to the hot tub is provided. You literally need nothing else. The dogs absolutely love it here and it really is one of the only places I've been where I'm actually sad about going home...(as are the dogs). Will be back again next year!!
When we arrived at Quercus in June 2021, we were immediately thrilled to find that the term ‘enclosed garden’ meant exactly that (we hade been let down so often before by that description), meaning we could relax knowing our three golden retrievers were safe. Then when we went into the cottage itself and were met by a very generous welcome pack and accommodation which has such attention to detail we were completely sold! We have now been returning every year since, never tiring of watching the wildlife, enjoying the peace and quiet and truly relaxing. The addition of a hot tub last year was another lovely way to while away the time. When you need to shop, Biggar has the essential supermarket, but also excellent independent businesses which deserve a look, my favourite being the bookshop. We can’t recommend Quercus enough. Thank you Tony and Nicola, who are always ready to help.
Wow, another absolutely amazing week at Quercus. As soon as you drive up to the gate, you feel yourself relax. It's so magical. The cottage is perfectly presented and set up for ourselves and our three shih tzus. Tony and Nicola are there if you need anything but they leave you alone to enjoy the peace and tranquility. Don't forget to feed the birds and squirrels. Definitely five stars from us.
We have just returned from our 11th wonderful visit to Quercus! It's like our second home. Quercus is really comfortable and welcoming. Eric and I go for a lovely relaxing tranquil break from it all and our dogs are ecstatic as they absolutely love the freedom Quercus offers. Both the garden and field are enclosed and safe for them to run and play to their hearts content. By day 2 they are absolutely shattered from investigating and playing and have early nights all week while we relax in front of the cosy wood burner. They love to see all the birds and the squirrels when they hide the nuts in the garden. They like to watch the local horses, sheep and cows too. There is a fabulous welcome basket to enjoy alongside the hot tub and loungers on the decking as it is a suntrap whilst relaxing overlooking the fields. It's so lovely and quiet we always get a great night's sleep, bed at Quercus is so comfortable. The owners Nicola and Tony are so friendly and helpful, we are always made to feel so welcome. Our boys absolutely love seeing them again as we do. The only hard bit about Quercus is getting the boys in the car to leave at the end of our stay as they want to stay longer!
Another beautiful stay in the cottage. We all love this place so much. It's brilliant for the dogs, nothing better than been able to just relax both inside the cottage and out. The field outside which the dogs can use is a real bonus. It's set in the most beautiful area - so peaceful, nothing but the wildlife and plenty of it. The cottage itself is so lovely , with a fantastic welcome basket when you arrive. You really won't want for nothing here.
